Vivarium Trust co-housing

Fact finding trips to Denmark and the Netherlands

Vivarium undertook fact finding trips during April 2006, with one group (two members) visiting The Netherlands and a second group (three members) travelling to Denmark.  The purpose of these visits was to see at first hand some existing Co-Housing projects in each country, to talk to local members, and to meet with local officials and consultants.  These trips allowed us to gain a better understanding of the past development of Co-Housing in each country and the place it currently occupies, to identify the strengths of the Co-Housing ‘movement’ and the problems faced, and to pinpoint and features, procedures or other lessons which could possibly be applied to the U.K.
