AGM  -  8 MAY 2011

The Vivarium Trust held its AGM on 8 May.   Chairman Hugh Hoffman reported a year of steady progress especially since the appointment of our first Development Officer in 2010.  Treasurer Monika Holton was happy to report a reasonable financial situation.  

Grace MacDonald our Development Officer focused on five main themes:

• Finance and Funding
• Sites
• Business Plan
• Liaison with Key Partners
• Group Development and Awareness Raising

For each topic she reported progress, possible challenges, and next steps planned.

The Steering Group were all re-elected for a further year and comprise:

Following the AGM business, we enjoyed a talk from Neil Burford, architect and lecturer at Dundee University, who described a recent project designing housing for older people in Perthshire.  Neil discussed the challenge of trying to reconcile the sometimes conflicting requirements of the developer, the planners, potential purchasers and external market forces while still trying to maintain his own professional integrity – not always an easy task!
